Small Groups at First Lutheran Church help people to connect with others, to build and grow relationships, and to aid in faith development. If there is a group here that you would like to participate in, please be sure and get in touch with the contact person or Ed Wosinski, our Director of Youth & Family Ministries. Women’s Bible Study
This is a group of women who meet at various members’ homes the third Saturday morning of each month to study the bible.
Men’s Bible Study
This group of men the third Saturday of each month for breakfast and for a bible study led by Pastor Bill. For more information, please contact Pastor Bill.
Thursday Lunch Bible Study
Each Thursday at noon, Pastor Bill leads a discussion based on the bible readings for the upcoming weekends. For more information, please contact Pastor Bill.
This is a group of people that pray, by name, for those serving in the ELCA, the government, events in the community and our world, and all of the groups and members of First Lutheran. This open group currently meets from 11:30 to 12:00pm Thursdays in the sanctuary. You are welcome to come anytime.
Listening for the Word:
This group will be studying “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young beginning Sunday September 25th at 6:00pm. The group will meet in the Gallery room at church, all are invited and welcome to join this uplifting study.
A social group that usually meets on a Saturday evening at a member’s home for food, fun, and fellowship. Contact the church office for more details.
Meets at different times throughout the year for study, social activities, and service opportunities. ContactKathleen with questions.
This group meets on Monday afternoons from noon until 3:00 p.m. in the quilting room. They assemble quilts and blankets for Lutheran World Relief and the American Red Cross. Contact the office for more information.
Paper Projects Group
The third Friday of each month, a group of women gather to work on various paper projects such as, scrapbooking, card making, jewelry making, etc.. For more information, contact Shar.
Un-Finished Objects (UFO)
This group of women meet each Tuesday in the Gallery at church, to work on various craft projects. All are invited to attend this group.
S.H.O.P Group (Seniors Helping Our Parish)
This is a group of senior citizens that enjoy helping our parish and getting to know others as well. They meet every Tuesday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Gallery for coffee, conversation, and to perform small maintenance projects around the church and the parsonage.
A group of people that love to play volleyball meet in the Family Life Center each Monday evening from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. Join this group for a fun evening of exercise and fellowship. All are invited and encouraged to come and play.
An active group of people meet Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to play pickleball in the Family Life Center. Members and non-members, some people come to all the session or only one or two as schedule permits. Contact the church office for information on times for pickleball.
Tai Chi and Strength, Stretching, and Stepping
These two workout sessions meet each Friday morning. For more information, please contact the church office.
A yoga session meets each Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.. For more information, please contact the church office.
The Lunch Bunch is a group of senior citizens that get together several times of year for various activities. Contact Ed Wosinski for more information.
The Bunco group is a group of women that meet at church on the second Friday of each month. They share a meal together and play several rounds of Bunco. Contact Ed Wosinski for more information.
This group meets every Monday starting in May and ending mid-September. This is open to any golfer; all are welcome. Partnerships are formed and a schedule is created once all the teams are set. Tee time begins at 5:30 at the Hickory Knoll Golf Course.. Contact Ed Wosinski for more information.
